Progressive Beginner Singing is suitable for anyone who wants to learn to sing, or sing better. Contains essential information on breathing, posture and tone productions, as well as a well rounded introduction to the basics of reading and understanding music and copying melodies by ear. Also covers performing in public, overcoming nerves, and microphone technique. By the end of the book, the student will be able to perform many well known songs in a variety of styles.
Each of musical examples and exercises in the book have been recorded on the accompanying CD and DVD. The examples you will first hear a female voice, followed by a second version with no singing al all for your own practice. For each of the songs you will hear a chord played by a piano to establish the key of the song in your mind, followed by the starting note of the song. With each of the songs, only the first verse is sung on the recording. This is followed by a longer version of the song without any singing, so you can practice any or all of the verses.
